Ilyumzhinov Invited the UN Secretary General to Children Tournament in Korea

The Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon will be invited to chess match between the children of North and South Korea, the president of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) Kirsan Ilyumzhinov told the news agency TASS.
It is planned that this sensational match of friendship will take place on the bridge, located on the 38th parallel that connect two countries with the different social and political systems. 100 chess tables would be placed on the bridge where the young participants of the tournament will play.
"The Chess will be the first step towards an independent and peaceful reunification of Korea”, said Ilyumzhinov. “Ban Ki-moon will be definitely invited to this event ".

According to Ilyumzhinov, the exact date of the match will be established at the General Congress of the FIDE on the 7th and 8th of September. The inclusion of the Chess Federation of the Democratic People's Republic in FIDE will be announced simultaneously. It will be the 187th member of this international organization, as the result of the Kirsan Ilyumzhinov visit to Pyongyang where the agreement on cooperation with North Korea was reached.
