The Super Finale of the Chess Championship of Russia Kick Off in Chita

The Super finales of the 68th Championship of Russia among men and the 65th Championship among women kicked off in Chita today.  The battle for the champions’ titles of the country will last for two weeks, ending on 21st of August. It was organized by the Russian Chess Federation and the Charity Foundation of Elena and Gennady Timchenko and supported by the President of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and the Government of Zabaykalsk region.
The sponsors of the competition were the "Norilsk Nickel" and "Baikal Mining Company."  The total prize fund is 8 million roubles.  (Over $ 120 thousand.).

Sergey Karjakin, Alexander Motylev, Daniil Dubov (Moscow), Igor Bald (the Sverdlovsk region), Dmitry Jakovenko (the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District ― Yugra), Denis Khismatullin (the Republic of Bashkortostan), Eugeny Tomashevskiy (the Saratov region),  Peter Svidler, Nikita Vitiugov, Ildar Khayrullin (St. Petersburg), Ivan Bukavshin (the Samara region) and Vladislav Artemiev (the Omsk region) will play in the 2015 Super finale among men.
Valentina Gunina,  Ekateruba Lagno, Alexandra Kosteniuk, Alina Kashlinskaya, Anastasia Savina, Ekaterina Kovalevskaya (Moscow), Alexandra Goriachkina (the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District), Natalia Pogonina (the Saratov region), Olga Girya (the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District ― Yugra), Marina Guseva (the Stavropol region), Anastasia Bodnaruk (St. Petersburg) and Evgenia Ovod ( the Leningrad region) will compete for the Champion title among women.
