As a result of the agreement, the 2016 European Champion, the head of the Ingushetia Chess Federation Ernesto Inarkiev, who was present at the signing of the document, will take part in a series of FIDE Grand Prix 2017. The tournaments will be held in Sharjah (February 17-28), Moscow (May 11-22), Geneva (July 5-16), and Palma de Mallorca (November 15-26).
On January 16, FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and the deputy of the State Duma, founder of the Ingushetia sports club "Adi Ahmad" Alikhan Harsiev signed a Memorandum of Cooperation at the Chess Museum of the Botvinnik Central House of Chess in Moscow.
The stated objectivities of the document are promoting the chess culture, stimulating healthy lifestyles, introduction of chess education in secondary schools, discovering and rendering support to the strongest chess players in the region.
