The Head of FIDE Closes the Championship in Dubai

The President of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) Kirsan Ilyumzhinov took part in the first Arab Chess Championship in Dubai (the United Arab Emirates) today.

As a result, the championship grandmaster from Qatar Mohammed Al-Sayed, who managed to beat all his rivals in the mastership of the game, has won the main prize of the tournament ‘The Kirsan Ilyumzhinov Cup’.

At the end of the gala ceremony, Ilyumzhinov warmly thanked the organizers of the competition for their professionalism and cordiality. Afterwards he held a business meeting with the leadership of the Arab Chess Federation to discuss the future cooperation.
