Outstanding Kalmyk table tennis coach has passed away

On 15 December, Kalmykia suffered a heavy loss. The founder of the Kalmyk table tennis, an honoured worker of public education of the Russian Federation, honoured worker of physical culture of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan, honoured citizen of Kalmykia and Gorodovikovsky district Anatoly Kuberlinov died.

Kirsan Ilyumzhinov sent condolences to the relatives and friends of the patriarch of Kalmyk sport. It reads as follows:

“The whole history of Kalmyk table tennis is connected with the name of Anatoly Kuberlinov. In recognition of his high qualities, he was awarded the title of “Honorary Citizen of the Republic of Kalmykia”, and received many other high awards.

I know that the pupils of the famous coach will never forget their mentor, thanks to whom they triumphantly entered the sport.
There is no doubt that Anatoly Erendzhenovich was a legend man. Everyone in our republic knew about him. For this it was not even necessary to play table tennis. Nearly ten generations of tennis players in Kalmykia have mastered the skills of playing table tennis; many of them have become masters of sports and winners of competitions of various levels.
Anatoly Erendzhenovich was a trainer-teacher of the highest qualification category, an arbiter of the republican category. His seniority totalled 61 years, of which 52 years were given to coaching.
Please accept my deepest condolences. Not just the founder of the Kalmyk school of table tennis died. The true patriot of Kalmykia, who made an invaluable contribution to the development of sports in our republic, has passed away.
The bright memory of this remarkable man will remain forever in our hearts. ”
