Kirsan Ilyumzhinov congratulated friends and fellow citizens on Defender of the Fatherland Day. The congratulation’s text reads as follows:
“On Defender of the Fatherland Day, I heartily congratulate the soldiers of the army and navy, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, representatives of law enforcement agencies, all who are on guard of the borders of our great Motherland and who are ready to immediately protect it from any external encroachments.
We are rightfully proud of the military traditions of the Russian Armed Forces. Our fathers and grandfathers heroically defended the Fatherland during years of severe trials. And we will preserve and enhance the glorious traditions of Russian military glory.
It is with special warmth that I congratulate the soldiers and officers who serve in the military unit 52923 of the North Caucasus Military District, where I served in 1980-1982.
I wish all those who worthily fulfil their military duty an honestly and faithfully serve Russia success in their hard work. I wish veterans good health and prosperity, happiness and peaceful sky above your heads!
