Kalmykia to celebrate 100th anniversary of autonomy in Moscow

In March, the Russian capital will host the days of culture and art of Kalmykia dedicated to the 100th anniversary of its autonomy. Creative groups of this republic are preparing for a big concert in Moscow.

Muscovites and guests of the capital will see theatrical productions, screening of documentaries and attend festivals and competitions. The culmination of the anniversary events will be the celebration in the State Kremlin Palace to be held on 10 March. On 13 March, a mobile art exhibition “And Kalmyk, a steppes’ friend” (Pushkin’s verse- Ed.) will open at the Victory Museum in Moscow.

Recall that in 2020 Kalmykia will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first All-Kalmyk Congress and national statehood. The declaration on the autonomy of the Kalmyk people was adopted in the village of Chilgir in the Yashkul region in July 1920.
