Ilyumzhinov: "The Candidates Tournament will be Held in the Building of the Central Telegraph Office in Moscow"

The FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov told to the agency ‘R-Sport’ that the tournament of the contenders for the World Chess Crown will be held in the premises of the Central Telegraph in Moscow.

The tournament will bring together the strongest chess players of the world: the Russians Sergey Karjakin and Peter Svidler; Bulgarian Veselin Topalov; Indian Viswanathan Anand; Dutch Anish Giri; the Americans Fabiano Caruana and Hikaru Nakamura; Armenian Levon Aronian. The winner will receive the right to play the match with the World Champion- Norwegian Magnus Carlsen.

"Grandmasters will live in the new luxury hotel Four Seasons and the tournament will take place in the premises of the Central Telegraph from 10th to 30th of March. They have offered us good conditions and all four matches would be broadcasted on the screen of the building, overlooking Tverskaya Street, around the clock. The official agreements to participate at the opening ceremony were provided by President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and the World Champion Magnus Carlsen"- said Ilyumzhinov by telephone.
"By the way, the other day I have set up my ‘messenger Kirsan’  enabling chess players to directly send messages on the Candidates Tournament and other issues," - added the head of FIDE.
