Vasily Papin: "Chess for Peace" in Angola

"2018 is the year of presidents election: the Russian Chess Federation, the Russian Federation, the International Chess Federation," Russian grandmaster Vasily Papin writes on his website. "And only one person will participate in two election campaigns -- the Russian Chess Federation and FIDE. This is Kirsan Nikolaevich Ilyumzhinov, who has been permanently at the helm of FIDE since 1995 and whose main task is promotion and development of chess.

To accomplish this task, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov created "Chess for Peace" Charity Foundation, which without hype and advertising provides a variety of assistance including sending personnel to places, where chess is still a world of magic and fantasy.
Following Nikolai Chadaev, who had been sent by the Foundation to South Africa, Botswana, I was sent to the Central Africa, Angola."
