The 14th Dalai Lama is confident that Russia will change the world

The 14th Dalai Lama said that the Russian people can become the leading nation of the world and make a great contribution to its transformation. In video message, the spiritual leader of the Buddhists also stated that he would like to go to those places in the former USSR, which he had visited as a child, adding that he was praying for his visit to Russia.
In the video message to participants of the international Synergy Global Forum, the 14th Dalai Lama said that "The Russian people can make a significant contribution to changing the world and Europe." Incidentally, this message was recorded in August.

"Geographically, Russia has a huge potential. New ideas, respect for each other. They know how to feel the joy of being a man. I think Russia will be able to properly use its opportunities. Russia has the potential to become the world's leading nation," said the spiritual leader of the Buddhists.
The Dalai Lama also noted that he would like to visit places that he visited as a child during the Soviet times, and he prays for his arrival in Russia.
"When I was young, I saw a lot of people from Tuva and Mongolia. Since 1979, I had the opportunity to visit Mongolia, the Soviet Union and some of its republics. I would very much like to visit these republics: Kalmykia, Buryatia and Tuva, but I do not think that soon it will be possible, "he said.
At the beginning of August 2017, the two-day meeting of Buddhist scholars and the Dalai Lama with Russian experts in neuroscience was held in India. It was reported that this meeting will mark the beginning of a series of international conferences called "Fundamental Knowledge: Dialogue Between Russian and Buddhist Scientists". Within its framework, scientists will collaborate in such areas as neurobiology, cognitive psychology and many others, studying the influence of Buddhist meditative practices on human consciousness.
The Dalai Lama gave an interview to Kommersant in India, speaking about his admiration for the people of Russia. "I believe in the great future of Russia. Russia in fact can become a real bridge between East and West. The Russian people are a great people," the Dalai Lama said.
The Dalai Lama, in his own words, feels very warm towards our country and he tries to meet with Russian Buddhists as often as possible. The last of his visits to Russia took place in 2004, during which he consecrated the area in Kalmykia for the construction of the largest Buddhist temple in Europe - the Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni.
