Sixth FIDE President congratulates Dmitry Li on his appointment to the high post.

On 9 January, by the decree of the head of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Dmitry Romanovich Li was appointed Director of the National Project Management Agency (NAPU) under the President of Uzbekistan. Dmitry Li is also the president of the Uzbekistan Chess Federation.

It is worth mentioning that the National Project Management Agency was established in July 2017 and is accountable to the President. The mission of the agency is “providing conditions for effective implementation of projects for the benefit of Uzbek people”.

 NAPU is an authorized body in the field of introduction and development of the digital economy.

The sixth FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov congratulated Dmitry Li on taking office. The greeting reads as follows:
“Dear Dmitry Romanovich! It is with a feeling of sincere joy that I learned the news of your appointment as Director of the National Project Management Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Your personal contribution to the promotion of progressive ideas of project management is widely known. It is due to your managerial experience, ability to organize the work of the team and focus it on solving the most complicated tasks that we can say with confidence that the goals set by the head of the Republic of Uzbekistan will be achieved.
I am particularly pleased to note that you are the President of Uzbekistan Chess Federation. I hope that your appointment, providing you with new organizational opportunities, will have a positive impact on the development of chess in Uzbekistan as a sport and as an art. There is nothing closer to the ideas of project management than chess, where victory is a project that needs to be implemented with all the resources at the disposal of the player.
