FIDE head meets with the President of the Estonian Chess Federation

On 16 May, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov met in Moscow with the President of the Estonian Chess Federation Ken Koort. Ken is also a graduate of MGIMO. They discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation.

Ilyumzhinov recalled that on December 14, 2016, he visited Tallinn, where he spoke at a conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Paul Keres. There he met with the President of Estonia.

"I suggested to Kersti Kaljulaid that chess should be included in the school curriculum. This is largely due to the fact that Estonia is the birthplace of Paul Keres, and he is an outstanding chess player not only of Estonia and the former Soviet Union but of the whole world," Ilyumzhinov said.
