On February 9, FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov arrived in Tehran, where he spoke at a press conference on the knock-out Women’s World Chess Championship.
The press conference, which took place in a 5-star hotel Espinas Palace (this is where the international Championship will be held), was attended along with Iranian chess players by the President of Iran Chess Federation Merhdad Pahlevanzade and FIDE CEO Geoffrey Borg.
