On November 8, head of FIDE arrived in Tel-Aviv. There he met with the leaders of Israel Chess Federation. The meeting was attended by President of Federation Zvika Barkai, Federation Chairman Theodore Or, FIDE Vice President Israel Gelfer, ICF Vice President Frank Haggai, President of ICF Moshe Slav, Vice President Ellie Nacht and International Arbiter Edael Stepak. A stimulating exchange of views on various issues of chess life took place. Possible projects of bilateral cooperation were discussed.
Moreover, agreements were reached to find ways to continue the "Chess in schools" project. As you know, Ilyumzhinov personally financially supported this project for several years in conjunction with the Israeli Ministry of Education. Also, as a part of his visit, Ilyumzhinov visited the Western Wall.
