Kirsan Ilyumzhinov congratulates Gafur Rakhimov on his victory in the elections

On 3 November, Gafur Rakhimov was elected President of the International Boxing Association. Kirsan Ilyumzhinov conveyed his congratulations to Mr Rakhimov. The greeting reads as follows:
“I sincerely congratulate Gafur Akhmedovich Rakhimov on his election as head of AIBA! Congratulations to the Boxing Federation of Russia that bravely fought for their leader and won! I wish you success in achieving all your goals and objectives!

I wish you good luck and success in your work for the benefit of the development of boxing! ”
Recall that Uzbek Gafur Rakhimov was elected President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) at the association’s congress, which was held in Moscow on 3 November.
Rakhimov’s candidacy was supported by 86 delegates out of 137. The second candidate for the post was the Olympic medalist and head of the Asian Boxing Confederation Serik Konakbayev from Kazakhstan.
Umar Kremlev, general secretary of the Russian Boxing Federation, was elected to the AIBA executive committee, receiving 63 votes. Recently, there were no representatives of Russia in the executive committee of this organization.
Kremlev noted that his work in the executive committee would help the Russian Boxing Federation more actively protect sportsmen and participate in the development of the sport in the world.
