Ilyumzhinov has opened a women's tournament in Monaco

October 2 President of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) Kirsan Ilyumzhinov opened the first stage of Grand Prix FIDE Women in the famous casino "Monte Carlo" in Monaco.

Тitled Ukrainian chess sisters Anna and Maria Muzychuk, head of the Russian Chess Federation Andrey Filatov, the guest of honor FIDE Grand Prix Maxim Travkin, the candidate to the title of the world champion Chinese Hou Yifan, chess players from Russia Georgy Zhuravsky and Alexandra Kosteniuk, Georgian grandmaster Nana Dzagnidze and others were also at the ceremony.

After the official part of the event, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov played a friendly game of chess with the Vice-President of the French Chess Federation, well-known politician and journalist Leo Battesti.
