On May 6, FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov arrived in Hanoi for a private visit.
Incidentally, the head of FIDE was taken picture as a souvenir with his countrywomen - Nadezhda Popovich, who graduated the Tsagan-Aman school with a silver medal (that was personally handed to her by Ilyumzhinov, who at that time headed the Republic of Kalmykia), and Olga Borovkova who graduated the school No.17 of Elista.
Upon arrival in the capital of Vietnam FIDE President met with Chan Quoc Nguyen with whom they both studied in the same group of MGIMO. Old friends walked along the shore of Lake of the Returned Sword. Afterwards Ilyumzhinov bowed to the Buddhist shrines and visited local sights.
