The head of FIDE: "The match for the women's world crown can be held in Singapore or Hong Kong"

A match between the Chinese World Chess Champion Tan Zhongyi and her compatriot Jiu Wenjun, who won the Grand Prix series, can be held in Singapore or Hong Kong. It was announced by Kirsan Ilyumzhinov.
"It is still unknown where the match will be held. We shall start considering it next week. Perhaps, it would take place as the Men’s Championship – in Asia. Maybe in Singapore or Hong Kong," suggested the President of FIDE.

Earlier Ilyumzhinov declared that Japan, Singapore, Thailand and Norway are applying to hold a match for the title of the men’s chess world champion, which like the women's one, is planned for 2018.
