More than 80 national chess federations are ready to support Ilyumzhinov's candidacy for the FIDE President

"More than 80 national chess federations are ready to support the candidacy of incumbent president of the International Chess Organization, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, in the forthcoming FIDE elections," said a source familiar with the situation.
"In total, there are 83 such federations (supporting Ilyumzhinov). Of these, 23 are European, 22 are Asian, 34 are African and 4 are from the American continent," he said to reporters, responding to clarifying question of Interfax.

FIDE joins 188 national chess federations. On 6 May, the Supervisory Board of the Russian Chess Federation supported Ilyumzhinov's candidacy for the post of FIDE President. FIDE Presidential elections will be held at the congress in Batumi on 3 October.
