The Head of FIDE Holds a Series of Meetings with the Prominent Politicians and Sports Representatives

As part of the first European Games in Baku, the President of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) Kirsan Ilyumzhinov held of a series of meetings with a number of well-known Russian and foreign politicians and sports representatives in the Azerbaijani capital.

For instance, he discussed the issues of the further constructive cooperation of FIDE with the President of the International Football Federation (FIFA) Joseph Blatter as and the head of the Russian Olympic Committee Alexander Zhukov.

Moreover, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov met with the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov who also arrived for the sporting event, and held talks on the legislative progress of the FIDE project "Chess in Schools".
