On October 10, in Riga (Latvia), FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov attended the teachings of the 14th Dalai Lama, who started a two-day spiritual teachings to his followers and those who are interested in Buddhism with a call to "take responsibility for all the humankind and to develop compassion and love."

His teachings in Skonto Hall gathered the audience of 4500 from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Finland, Sweden, the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Italy and the USA and other countries.
