FIDE head closes tournament in Chisinau

On April 1, FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon took part in the closing ceremony of the International Chess Tournament the "Chebanenko Memorial" in Chisinau.

The famous grandmasters Evgeny Postny (Israel) and Alexander Bortnik (Ukraine) participated in the finals of the competition. As a result, the first place was won by the Israeli, who beat the opponent with a score of 2:0.

The head of FIDE and the head of state made welcoming speeches warmly congratulating the participants of the Memorial, and awarded the honored prizes to the winners.
Recall that this prestigious tournament is held annually with the aim of promoting chess in the Republic of Moldova and strengthening friendly ties with chess players from other countries, as well as in memory of the talented coach and teacher Vyacheslav Chebanenko.
