On May 19, FIDE President, the head of Kirsan Foundation Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and GM Alexander Motylev held a simultaneous game for disabled children on 24 boards in the second stage of 2917 Grand Prix-series held in Moscow’s Central Telegraph building. The tournament hall was also ded by the 12th World Chess Champion Anatoly Karpov and chess patron from Israel Moshe Slav.
Recall that charity session was held on the initiative of a member of the FIDE Commission for the Disabled Polina Torochkova. The main goal was to attract public and the media attention to the problem of social adaptation of special children by showing the importance of chess in the development of their intellectual abilities.
