On July 2, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov visited the Children's Pan American Chess Championship (San Jose, Costa Rica) participated by about 500 boys and girls -- aged between 8 to 18 years -- from 25 countries.

Later, FIDE president visited a coaching seminar led by ex-World Champion Susan (Zsuzsa) Polgar. Ilyumzhinov gave a brief speech at the event with and then answered the questions of those present.
