Head of FIDE sends a letter to participants of cybersecurity contest in Samara

At the end of last week, the 7th International Interuniversity Cybersecurity Competition ‘VolgaCTF 2017’ ended in Samara.

1024 teams from 77 countries fought for the victory in the traditional ‘attack-defense’ format. 15 teams from Samara, Moscow, Penza, Saratov, Cheboksary, Tomsk, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Austria, Vietnam, the USA and Portugal took part in the finals.

As a result, representatives of Russian universities took the 1-3 places: MEPI, Novosibirsk State University and the Higher School of Economics. According to the organizers of the competitions, "an unexpected and pleasant surprise was a letter to the VolgaCTF 2017 from FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov with an offer of support."
