The African Chess Confederation supports Kirsan Ilyumzhinov's decision to run for FIDE President in 2018

On January 21, at congress of the African Chess Confederation, held in Sousse, Tunisia, the following statement was made:

We, Presidents, delegates and representatives of African Chess Federations, considering:
- The current situation in FIDE;
- The prospects of development of African chess federations;
- The permanent attachment of the dear Kirsan Ilyumzhinov to African chess development;
- The process of the African Chess Foundation creation;

We solemnly appreciate the will of the dear Kirsan to continue serving as leader of FIDE and we offer him our support.
Adopted by the African Continental Assembly unanimously with thirty (30) members present.
