The Meeting of the Executive Committee of FIDE Took Place in Abu Dhabi

The meeting of the Executive Committee of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) was held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates on September 7th.  The summary report on the work done in the past year was made by the FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov.
The FIDE executive director Nigel Freeman, the President of the Russian Chess Federation Andrey Filatov, the members of the FIDE Presidential Board and other leading officials have also took part in this meeting.

At same time, the President of the Chess Federation of the UAE Saeed Al Meqbali was elected the Director of the Development of FIDE.
Besides, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov held talks with the South Korean delegation, which included the president of the Chess Federation of the Republic of Korea Suk Hyun, the Director of Sports of the Government of Gangwon Province and the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the same province Choi Kwang-shik.
