On March 5, FIDE President arrived in Ulaanbaatar, where he met with Batsukh Saranchimeg, who is a member of a specially created parliamentary group to promote chess. This is a very representative group, it includes 23 deputies.
The parties discussed important issues on the development of chess in Mongolia. The interlocutors noted the huge progress and success of Mongolian players in competitions of all levels, especially at children's world and continental championships.
This success is connected in many respects with the successful work of President of Mongolian Chess Federation Sainbayar Tserendorj, who, moreover, is a member of FIDE Chess in Schools Commission.
Upon completion of business negotiations, Ilyumzhinov walked around the central square of Ulaanbaatar and admired the famous Genghis Khan Statue. Mongolian children recognized the renowned guest and cheerfully greeted him.
