On March 10, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov visited one of the most ancient temples of the capital of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam – Chan Quoc Pagoda on the shore of the West Lake. It was constructed in 541; the title is translated as "pacification in the country". Pagoda’s Abbot Thich Thanh Nha is the head of the Buddhist association of Vietnam.It is worth mentioning that Dmitry Medvedev visited a pagoda in Hanoi when he was still President of the Russian Federation. On March 11, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov met with Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Chan Hong Ha. The parties discussed various issues of mutual interest. Chang Hong Ha is a graduate of the Moscow Mining Institute, so the interlocutors spoke Russian. The meeting was attended by the head of the Soviko holding Nguyen Thanh Hung.
In Hanoi, Ilyumzhinov visited his old friends, where he got acquainted with the rarest parrot, the hyacinth macaw.
