The FIDE President opens the tournament ‘The White Rook’

On the 1st June, the President of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) Kirsan Ilyumzhinov opened the tournament for the school teams ‘ The White Rook’" in Dagomys.

"It is nice that this event was not only the All-Russian, but the international as well.  For the first time it will feature six teams of children from other countries, in particular, from Mongolia, Israel and Moldova," said Ilyumzhinov.

"This tournament was welcomed by the Russian President Vladimir Putin last year.  This year, the President of the Russian Chess Federation Andrey Filatov has delivered the greeting message of the President.  Likewise, the head of the Russian Olympic Committee Alexander Zhukov asked me to pass the best wishes to the participants ", stressed the head of FIDE.
