Addressing the participants, he noted that this tournament is, above all, a rivalry of minds to identify the strongest players and get a new experience. 54 Ingushetia’s strongest chess players took part in the FIDE President’s Cup. Almost half of them were schoolchildren.
However, age is of no fundamental importance in chess. The results of the competition confirmed it. The competition was held on the Swiss system in nine rounds. Intense intellectual battles training the ability to think strategically and tactically, developing endurance and stress resistance went on for more than two hours.
Nine rounds of fascinating struggle ended with the victory of Jabrail Debziev, the second place took the young Ali Tangiev and the third place was taken by Rustam Kiloyev. The youngest contestant – ten-year-old Amir Evloev took 15th place, gaining 5.5 points. All prize-winners and the winner of the tournament were awarded diplomas and cash prizes.
From 7 to 8 April, the Open Chess Tournament for the FIDE President’s Cup was held in Troitskoye village, Sunzhensky district of Ingushetia.
The competition was held in Adi-Ahmad sports club. The participants of the chess tournament were greeted by the President of Ingushetia Chess Federation, International Grandmaster, European Champion Ernesto Inarkiev.
