As we already informed, FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov took part in the opening ceremony of the fifth Shamkir Chess 2018 super tournament on 18 April.
On 19 April, a meeting was held with First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Yaqub Eyyubov. The head of FIDE told him about the opening ceremony of the fifth super tournament in Shamkir. It was agreed that a 6th super tournament will be held next year. Also issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed at the meeting.
