In Accra, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov met with the President of the Ghana Chess Association Philip Elikem Ameku. They discussed various issues that of development of chess in the country and on the African continent.
On 24 May, FIDE president flew to Accra, the capital of the Republic of Ghana. It is symbolic that the hotel, in which Kirsan Ilyumzhinov stayed, is called Golden Tulip. As is known, the tulip is a symbol of Kalmykia. The head of FIDE was pleasantly surprised at this coincidence.
