On 15 August, 15 Kirsan Ilyumzhinov flew to Tashkent. He met with the UCF President Dmitry Li in the office of the Uzbekistan Chess Federation.Dmitry Lee, in his turn, expressed gratitude to FIDE leader for promoting and popularizing chess and presented Kirsan Ilyumzhinov a 100 cells chess set, which was invented by the great commander Amir Timur in the 14th century, as a souvenir.
During the talks, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov cordially thanked Dmitry Li for the recent Decree of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev introducing chess as an obligatory subject in 150 schools’ programme.
