On 31 January, the sixth FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov met with the President of the Republic of Moldova, President of the Moldovan Chess Federation Igor Dodon. Kirsan Nikolayevich and Igor Nikolayevich are bound by old friendship and mutual respect, which is why their conversation was non-formal, warm and substantial.At the meeting, both discussed the implementation of a number of economic and social projects. And, of course, they talked about chess. Moldova’s president said that Kirsan Ilyumzhinov had provided enormous assistance in the opening of hundreds of chess classes in Moldovan cities and villages.
