Ilyumzhinov congratulated Karjakin with the victory

The tie-break ended in Baku. The winner of the World Cup-2015 - Russian Sergey Karjakin, who beat his compatriot Peter Svidler.
The first game of speed chess Karjakin won. In the next match Svidler managed to win. In the first ten-minute Svidler defeated, but in the second game Karjakin won. The match was decided in the blitz when Karjakin beat Svidler in both parties.

President of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) Kirsan Ilyumzhinov wrote on his Twitter: "Congratulations to Sergey Karjakin-deserved victory, and the two grandmasters and all chess lovers - a great finale!".
Before the final battle the head of FIDE met with the Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan  Azad Rahimov; the President of the Chess Federation, the head of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Elman Rustamov and the director of the organizing committee of the World Cup and the 2016 Chess Olympiad Mair Mammadov. Then he discussed the results of the match with chess observers from Russia Marina and Sergei Makarychev.
