From 28 September to 2 October, the tournaments among boys and girls under 11 and 13 and among boys and girls under 15, 17 and 19, were held in Elista, at the premises of the Oirat Arena sports complex.
Chess players from Elista, Justin, Tselin, Lagan and Ketchenerov districts took part in the championship.
The most interesting was the tournament in a group of boys under 11 and 13 years old. 9 rounds were held and until the last round no one knew who would be the winner.
The first President of Kalmykia, sixth President of FIDE conveyed congratulations to the young chess players and wished them never to give up chess and to confidently move on to further victories.
The finalists will participate in the Chess Championship of the Russian Federation, which will be held in Sochi from 2 November to 11 November.
