The Day of Diplomatic Workers is a professional holiday of all diplomatic employees of the Russian Federation, which is celebrated in Russia annually on 10 February.
Editor’s note. The Day of Diplomatic Workers was established on 31 October 2002 by a Decree of the Russian President Vladimir Putin. The date of this holiday, 10 February, is connected with the history of the first foreign policy department of Russia, the Posolsky Prikaz. It was established on this day in 1549 and its’ first head appointed by the Tsar of Russia Ivan the Terrible was Ivan Viskovatov.
