On behalf of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) and myself, I express my condolences to the Russian Chess Federation in connection with the death of the chess historian and writer Isaac Linder.
This grief is shared with us all the fans of the ancient game, because the contribution to the popularization of chess Linder on a global scale is difficult to overestimate.
Proof of this – his numerous articles and books that all over the world chess fans are reading with great interest.
The inimitable literary style and sharp, inquisitive mind of Isaac Maksovich not inferior to his professionalism and total dedication of the beloved work. The memory of Isaac Linder will forever remain in our grateful hearts.
