This month, which accounts for the main events in the life of Buddha Shakyamuni (birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana), is called the “month of a hundred-fold increase.”
You can watch the live broadcast on Zoom or YouTube. It begins at 14:00.
Editors’ note: Ypc Cap falls on 23 May and ends on June 21 this year. Fasting is usually observed in the republic during this period: Kalmyks do not eat meat, fish, and eggs; they do not drink alcohol, and take vows that are closely related to their traditions and culture. If it is not possible to observe vegetarianism, then, as a rule, you should give up meat at least on the 15th day, when Buddha Shakyamuni reached enlightenment and went to parinirvana.
During Ypc Cap, one should visit khuruls and stupas, make offerings to Sangha and recite the mantras, such the Buddha’s love and compassion mantra “Om Mani Padme Hum”.
