Kirsan Ilyumzhinov conveys condolences to the Buddhists of Tuva on the untimely death of the Supreme Lama of Tyva

On June 23, the Kamba Lama of the Republic of Tuva Jampel Lodoy passed away. He died of coronavirus. The death of the Supreme Lama, who was supposed to be 45 years old this August, was a huge loss for the republic.

Kirsan Ilyumzhinov conveyed his condolences to the Buddhists of Tuva on the death of the Kamba Lama:
“With deep sorrow, I learned about the untimely death of the Kamba Lama of the Republic of Tuva, the venerable Jampel Lodoy. I grieve with my brothers and sisters, the Buddhists of Tuva.

The venerable Kamba Lama was a friend of Kalmykia. He had close friendships with the monastic community of our republic. He, like many Kalmyk monks, was educated at the Drepung Gomang Monastery (India).

The death of the Supreme Lama was a huge loss not only for the Republic of Tuva, but also for Buddhists around the world. I express my sincere condolences to the head of the republic, Sholban Kara-ool, and to the entire Tuvan people. I share with you the bitterness of loss. A spiritual teacher who brought the brilliant wisdom of Buddha’s teachings to the world has gone. ”
