On July 20, first President of Kalmykia, sixth FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov took part in the festive events dedicated to the International Chess Day.

Kirsan Nikolayevich arrived in Sevastopol from Evpatoria. He met with the chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol Vladimir Nemtsev. In a phone conversation,  Ilyumzhinov told us about the meeting:
“Vladimir Nemtsev and I discussed the development of the Chess in Schools programme. I had a long and constructive conversation with the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol that, I am sure, will greatly contribute to the development of chess in the region by supporting children's chess.
