Kalmykia to celebrate the Day of the Dharma Chakra

Dharma Chakra is one of the most important Buddhist holidays celebrated annually by Buddhists on the fourth lunar day of the sixth lunar month. In 2020, the holiday falls on July 24.

More than two and a half thousand years ago, Buddha Shakyamuni in the sacred place of Varanasi gave five of his disciples the first sermon on the Four Noble Truths. This event has a timeless meaning for all living beings.
This holiday marks the day when Buddha Shakyamuni, after 49 days of silence, attained enlightenment and delivered his first sermon, in which he gave the Teachings on the Four Noble Truths. This knowledge became the basis of Buddhist teachings and it is considered canonical.

The Buddha revealed to people that there is suffering in the world, that this suffering has its reasons, and that due to the existence of reasons, this suffering can be stopped. And most importantly, there is a path that takes them out of the circle of suffering.

This is one of the four major holidays associated with the life and teachings of Buddha Shakyamuni. This day, the Dharma Chakra, is the first day of the Teachings of Buddha.
The Buddha's teachings have benefited millions of people for thousands of years. Buddhist holidays serve as a reminder of the important deeds of the Buddha, of his middle path, along which everyone can walk and reach Enlightenment.
All events will be held online on the official YouTube channel of the Central Khurul "The Golden Abode of Shakyamuni Buddha".
