On September 29, first President of Kalmykia, sixth FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov arrived in Cairo on a working visit. On the same day, negotiations were held with the Minister of Trade and Industry of Egypt Nevine Gamea and the CEOs of Suez Canal Administration. They discussed a number of important issues for the development and implementation of joint investment projects.
In addition, Ilyumzhinov held a working meeting with Vice President for Strategic Projects of Egypt, Lieutenant General Mohab Mamish. Kirsan Ilyumzhinov presented him with Russian chess set made of amber.
