Everyone will be able to visit the exhibition held at the third level of the Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni, then it will be sent to the regions of the republic.
As part of the event, a presentation of three books was held: a photo album "The Dalai Lama in Kalmykia", "Repressed Buddhist clergy of the 1920-1930s. List of names of Kalmyk monks” and a collection of daily prayers in Kalmyk language“ Өdr bolһna kishgin buin zalvrl ”.
The event ended with the presentation of a collection of prayers in the Kalmyk language. The collection is devoted to the basics of Buddhist practice in Kalmyk and Russian languages. The book is divided into two parts, the first part is a compilation of daily prayers, and the second part is devoted to praising the Buddhas and mantras.
Editors’ note: Buddhists consider the Dalai Lama to be the embodiment of the Buddha of compassion Avalokiteshvara. The current Dalai Lama was enthroned at the age of five in 1940 after he was recognized as the reincarnation of his predecessor. In 1989, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
The Dalai Lama repeatedly visited believers in Buryatia, Tuva and Kalmykia: during the Soviet era (1979, 1982, 1986 and 1991) and in the new Russia (1992). In 1994, His Holiness arrived in Moscow one more time. Ten years later, in November 2004, first President of Kalmykia Kirsan Ilyumzhinov managed to get permission for His Holiness to visit Kalmykia again.
