Kirsan Ilyumzhinov congratulates Umar Kremlev on his election to the post of AIBA President

On December 12, the Secretary General of the Russian Boxing Federation Umar Kremlev was elected the new President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA). He became the third Russian who currently runs an international organization representing the Olympic sport after Alisher Usmanov, heading the International Fencing Federation (FIE), and the head of International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) Vladimir Lisin. Kremlev got 86 votes, while acting head of AIBA Mohamed Mustasan got only 19 votes and the Dutch candidate got 45 votes.

First President of Kalmykia, sixth President of FIDE Kirsan Ilyumzhinov congratulated Umar Kremlev on his convincing victory:

 

“Dear Umar Nazarovich! I sincerely congratulate you on the great Victory! Knowing you as an experienced sports leader, I confidently declare that you will be able to unite the world boxing community, and this is what one of the most popular sports needs.

I am infinitely glad that Russia is beginning to restore its rightful place in the top of various international organizations. I believe that this process will gain momentum thanks to you and your activities.
I am convinced that your professionalism and unprecedented experience in managing such a complex sports federation as the Russian Boxing Federation will help solve a number of difficult tasks facing AIBA.
