Kirsan Ilyumzhinov expresses condolences on the death of Sergei Prikhodko

On January 26, the former Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, the ex-head of the government staff Sergei Prikhodko died at the age of 64. His death came after a long illness. First President of Kalmykia, sixth President of FIDE Kirsan Ilyumzhinov expressed condolences on the death of Sergei Prikhodko:

“I express my deep condolences to the family and friends of Sergei Eduardovich Prikhodko in connection with his death. A prominent public official of our country, a graduate of MGIMO, Sergei Eduardovich will forever remain in my memory as a deep, decent person and a true friend.

Sergei Eduardovich will forever remain in my memory as a talented diplomat, successful administrator and public official. But the main thing is that he combined the features of a high-ranking official and a bright personality." 

The editor’s bote: Sergei Prikhodko was born in Moscow in 1957. He graduated from MGIMO in 1980, after which he worked at the USSR Embassy in Czechoslovakia, then at the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Russian Embassy in the Czech Republic and the Russian Foreign Ministry. At the end of his diplomatic career, at various times, he held the posts of Assistant to the President (under Boris Yeltsin, Vladimir Putin and Dmitry Medvedev), deputy head of the presidential administration of Russia, and head of the presidential foreign policy department. In 2013-2018, he headed the Cabinet Office with the rank of Deputy Prime Minister. He became the First Deputy Head of the Government Office in 2018. In January 2020, Mikhail Mishustin appointed Sergei Prikhodko as his assistant.
