Kirsan Ilyumzhinov: A wonderful Kalmyk writer and screenwriter Oleg Mandzhiev passed away

On January 27, my friend, the wonderful Kalmyk writer Oleg Mandzhiev, passed away. In 2019, Oleg celebrated his 70th birthday. How inexorably time moves, how unexpectedly friends go to where there is no return!

Kalmykia will not forget Oleg! The author of the books "The Boy with Bows", "Always Return", "The Adventures of Elzyatka in the Mouse State" forever entered the list of the most beloved writers of our people.

His talent was multifaceted: Oleg also wrote the script for the film "Fortune-telling on a sheep's shoulder". By the way, for this film Oleg was awarded the international prize ICFF and the title of laureate of the State Prize of the Kalmyk ASSR named after O. Gorodovikov.

In total, Oleg Mandzhiev wrote ten books and six short and four full-length films were staged based on his scripts. I am proud of my great friend. And I grieve that he passed away.

I would like to express my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Oleg Mandzhiev.
