Kirsan Ilyumzhinov’s best wishes on Mikhail Gorbachev’s 90th birthday

On March 2, first and last president of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev celebrates his anniversary. First President of Kalmykia, sixth President of FIDE Kirsan Ilyumzhinov greeted Mikhail Gorbachev on his birthday.

“Dear Mikhail Sergeevich! I wish you all the best on your birthday! You are the person who more than others influenced the modern world order and the balance of political forces. It is not without reason that 31 years ago you were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for your contribution to reducing international tension and implementing the policy of transparency.
For me, Mikhail Sergeevich, you are a person who offered a new view of the world. You were the first to announce to the world community that the Soviet Union can exist in freedom.
You did a lot to change the world and stop considering the Soviet Union a threat. You managed to clear the way for the natural course of history and preserve the main thing: human lives.
You, which is very important for the current generation of Russians to know, have always been loyal to the ideas of humanism and that’s what saved our country from bloody chaos. I am sure, dear Mikhail Sergeevich, that you are in many ways ahead of your time. And everything that you have done, you have done for the good of Russia. I am proud that I had the honour of meeting you.

Dear Mikhail Sergeevich, thank you for everything you have done. For the freedom and hope that you have given to all of us. Thank you for the open world that you have opened for a whole generation.
I am immensely proud of our acquaintance. Thank you for the time that you have devoted so generously to me, thank you for your kind words and wise advice. I wish you, dear Mikhail Sergeevich, good health, success and prosperity!”
