He was chevalier of the Order of Friendship of Peoples, veteran of the national and republican oil and gas industry, honoured worker of the national economy of the Republic of Kalmykia and honorary citizen of the Republic of Kalmykia.
First President of Kalmykia, sixth President of FIDE Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, while in Beirut, conveyed his best wishes to the outstanding state, political and public figure of Russia and Kalmykia Batyr Mikhailov, who celebrated his 80th birthday on March 28.

Editor’s note: Batyr Mikhailov was born in 1941. He graduated from the Grozny Oil Institute. He was the chairperson of the Council of Ministers of the Kalmyk ASSR (in late 80s and early 90s), a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR and twice was a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the KASSR.
